Deputies say Canandaigua Ambulance, Cheshire Fire Department, and Mercy Flight were all called to the area of State Route 5&20 and Middle Cheshire Road for a two-car accident on Thursday.
Emmanuel Davis, 32, of Geneva was traveling east on State Route 5&20 — was pulling a small utility trailer — when he failed to stop at a red light and struck a vehicle operated by James Wright, 90, of Canandaigua.
Wright was extricated from the vehicle by Cheshire Fire Department using the jaws of life. He sustained a hip fracture and was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight. His front seat passenger, Diane Wright, sustained a leg fracture and was sent to Strong via Canandaigua Ambulance.
Davis was not injured, but was issued a citation for failing to stop at a red light.
State Route 5&20 was closed for approximately one hour as crews worked the scene.
