A jury convicted a Wayne County man of murdering a Sodus woman in the fall of 2016.
According to our news partners at the Times of Wayne County, 61-year-old Alvin Pinkard was found guilty of second-degree murder Thursday in the death of Josephine Chiaverini.
The jury debated for less than five hours before coming back with a guilty verdict.
State Police say Chiaverini, 57, was found dead on her back porch on October 6, 2016 after a family member requested police to check on her well-being at her house on Joy Road.
Pinkard was Chiaverini's ex-boyfriend, according to family members.
