The Town of Torrey will hold its annual Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 28th at 10:30 AM at the Dresden United Methodist Church on Cornelia Street. Richard Simpson, Yates County Deputy Sheriff and US Marine Corps Sergeant (Ret.), will be the guest speaker. Jeff Waite will lead the Penn Yan Middle School Band. Toby Bond and Sheryl Parkhurst will lead the Memorial Day Choir. Ryan Smith will be the guest soloist. Don Chambers will read the Roll of Honor. Following the program there will be a parade to the cemetery, where a service will be conducted under the direction of Don Chambers and other members of American Legion Post 1571. J. Jeffrey Stempien and Philip Bracht will play taps. After the cemetery service there will be a chicken barbecue at the church. Take-outs (including halves) are available. All are invited.
