A post on Instagram prompted a heavy response from law enforcement this morning in Wayne County.
A student posted to Instagram indicating that a band teacher was ‘wearing’ a bomb. The post read, “My band teacher is wearing a bomb.”
An investigation was launched, which was prompted by the FBI. Authorities in Wayne County say the FBI contacted local law enforcement to begin investigating.
Officials at the school said there was no bomb, and that students were safe throughout the day.
“Today a student at the North Rose-Wolcott High School observed a teacher wearing an electronic button advertising an upcoming band concert. The student then posted on Instagram a message stating “my band teacher is wearing a bomb,” the statement said. “The FBI contacted local law enforcement and they responded, investigated the threat and the building was cleared at approximately 11:30 am.”
