First annual “A Taste of Penn Yan” festival to benefit the Suicide Prevention Coalition of Yates County

On June 3rd, 2018 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, the Keuka Emporium Event Venue and Penn Yan Elks 1722 will host the first annual “A Taste of Penn Yan” spring festival. The event celebrates small-town pleasures in the heart of Penn Yan, featuring tastings from some of its best restaurants, wineries, breweries and specialty food shops. This year, A Taste of Penn Yan is helping raising awareness and money for the Suicide Prevention Coalition of Yates County.

The festival’s main action centers around tastings inside the Keuka Candy Emporium and Event Venue at 131 Main Street, Penn Yan, where attendees will find food, music from FLE Event Group, and raffles throughout the afternoon. From there, the fun continues on foot down Main Street with participating eateries offering in-store tastings and activities at Kids’ Zones hosted by the Penn Yan Elks and the ReFIND Open Studio. Participating Main Street eateries include The Keuka Restaurant, Cam’s Pizza, Milly’s Pantry and Amity Coffee Co.

Each year, A Taste of Penn Yan will support a local non-profit that influences lives in the community. This year’s beneficiary is the Suicide Prevention Coalition of Yates County. The Coalition is a new grassroots organization working to prevent suicide by increasing awareness, understanding, education, and training—ultimately empowering our community to help end suicide in Yates County. Their vision is to build a resilient community in which there is: zero stigma talking about suicide, zero attempts, and zero suicide deaths.

Presale tickets are available now at three locations in Penn Yan: the Keuka Candy Emporium and Event Venue (131 Main Street), Community Bank (151 Main Street), and Amity Coffee Co. (13 Main Street). Tickets also can be purchased from Suicide Prevention Coalition members or by calling 315-531-4700. Last minute sales will be available the day of the event at the Keuka Candy Emporium.
