Auburn attorney seeking election for city court judge

An Auburn attorney is hoping to be the next city court judge.

On Monday, Steven H. Buschman announced he will be seeking the Democratic nomination for Auburn City Court Judge. A senior partner at WHMB P.C., he specializes in domestic relations, real estate and misdemeanor criminal matters.

Born and raised in Auburn, Buschman, 47, graduated from SUNY Oswego and the University of Akron School of Law, where he was an articles editor on the Akron Law Review. He has practiced law for the past 20 years and participated as a board member at Booker T. Washington Community Center, coached youth basketball and baseball, and co-founded a not-for-profit basketball program in the community.

Buschman said he believes he is a qualified representative of the community and would be honored to take on the responsibilities of city court judge. He hopes to replace current judge Michael McKeon, who decided not to seek re-election this fall.
