Police: Gorham man tried to pay party to assault victim

On Thursday at approximately 5:05 p.m. police arrested a 28-year-old Gorham resident on multiple charges following a complaint filed on Wednesday.

Police say Justin D. Warner, 28, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, aggravated family offense, and criminal solicitation after allegedly approaching a local resident at her place of work while a protective order was active.

According to police, Warner is accused of approaching another local resident — and offering them money in exchange for physically assaulting the protected victim.

He was arraigned in Tyre Town Court and committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 secured bond.

The charges will be answered at a later date, and a felony hearing is scheduled for May 14th at 9:30 a.m.
