Marijuana grow operation discovered in child’s bedroom, Tyre duo arrested on multiple charges

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on May 10th investigators arrested a Tyre pair following a domestic incident reported the night before.

Jayme L. Furniss, 31, and Kimberly A. Furniss, 28, both of Marsh Rd. in the Town of Tyre were involved in a verbal argument within their residence, where three children under 5 were present.

While on scene of the domestic, deputies discovered a marihuana grow operation in one of the children’s bedrooms.



Both were charged with the following:

– Unlawfully Growing of Cannabis, Class A Misdemeanor;

– Three counts of Unlawfully Dealing with a Child in the First Degree, Class A Misdemeanor; and

– Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the Fourth Degree, Class A Misdemeanor.

The two were released on appearance tickets.

They are scheduled to appear at the Town of Tyre Court on June 5th at 5 p.m.

Child Protective Services were notified of the incident and are working in conjunction with members of the Sheriff’s Office.
