The ARC of Seneca-Cayuga will honor 56 people at its annual meeting and awards presentation from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 18, at New York Chiropractic College on Route 89, Seneca Falls.
Three people who receive services through ARC will be recognized as “Shining Stars” for taking the initiative to meet challenges and reach their goals. Christopher Hacker and Nancy Schillace of Auburn and Richard Kashella of Ovid are being recognized.
All three will be honored for making significant strides in becoming more independent, securing gainful employment and maintaining their independent living situations.
Employer of the Year is G.W. Lisk Inc. of Clifton Springs. The company has been the recipient of this award four times over the past 25 years for consistently ensuring gainful employment for people with disabilities.
Tim Hoag of Auburn will receive the Volunteer of the Year Award for volunteering more than 200 hours each summer at the ARC summer day camp, Camp Columbus.
