Best-selling author and ABC News Chief Legal Analyst Dan Abrams will speak in Auburn Thursday, Sept. 27, as the next guest in the Seward House Museum's Elsa Soderberg Distinguished Speaker Series.
Abrams' newest book, "Lincoln's Last Trial: The Murder Case That Propelled Him to the Presidency," will be released June 5. It tells the true story of a high-profile murder trial that played out in the country's newspapers during the 1860 election, and how a loss in the trial could have ended Lincoln's Oval Office ambitions.
Since starting in 2012, the Soderberg series has featured Pulitzer Prize-winning author and commentator Doris Kearns Goodwin, journalist Cokie Roberts, political satirist Mark Russell and director emeritus of the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History Brent Glass.
