Galen man charged with breaking a deputy’s hand after incident

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Galen man for assaulting a deputy following a domestic incident.

Jarrod R. Traylor, 35 of Galen is accused of breaking a deputy’s hand following an incident.

Officers responded to Traylor’s residence to investigate a reported domestic incident. While attempting to detain Traylor, he engaged in a physical altercation with officers resulting in a Deputy Sheriff suffering a broken hand.



Both the officer and Traylor were treated and released from Newark Wayne Hospital. He was charged with second-degree assault and arraigned in the Town of Galen Court.

He was committed to the Wayne County Jail on $7,500 cash or $15,000 bond.

Traylor is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Galen Court at a later date and time to answer the charge.
