A boil water order was recently issued for about a dozen Auburn properties.
The order was issued due to some work the city is doing on a waterline in the Fort Street area.
Properties involved include nearly 10 homes on Fort Street, a few on Bostwick Avenue, the Fort Hill Cemetery chapel, and 180 Genesee St.
Director of Cayuga County Environmental Health Eileen O’Connor said that each property received a hand-delivered notice from the city prior to the issue of the boil order.
“If people did not get a notice, they’re not affected,” said O’Connor. She stressed that the boil water order is “very, very isolated,” and precautionary in nature.
