Motorcyclist sent to Strong after crash on State Route 31 in Palmyra

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports a personal injury crash that occurred on Tuesday in the Town of Palmyra.

The collision involved a car and a motorcycle, according to deputies. The operator of the car – identified as James A. Parker Jr., 41 of Rochester was traveling west on State Route 31 and had to brake suddenly due to traffic in front of him braking suddenly.



Then, the operator of a 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle struck the rear of the Subaru.

The operator of the motorcycle, identified as Kevin D. Schumacher, 59 of Palmyra was injured and transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by Port Gibson Ambulance in stable condition.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Port Gibson Fire Department and Finger Lakes Ambulance.
