Following employee complaint, Weedsport public works chief resigns

Amid an investigation of an employee workplace violence and harassment complaint, the Weedsport Board of Trustees has approved entering into a resignation agreement with the village’s public works superintendent.

During an afternoon special meeting on April 24, called “to discuss employment and disciplinary action of a particular employee with attorney,” Trustees Harry Hinman, Chris Lukins, Chere Perkins and Steve Sims voted in favor of “a voluntary separation and resignation agreement with a village employee.”

Carson DiRisio said she filed the complaint because things had reached “the point where I felt unsafe at work.”
