Wright Avenue resident Kathi Finizio said she was “disappointed” with the Auburn Planning Board’s unanimous decision to approve a nearly 34,500-square-foot expansion to Currier Plastics Tuesday.
The expansion will be a new warehouse with several loading docks, to be built in the parking lot behind an existing smaller warehouse on the Wright Avenue portion of the manufacturer’s facility. The storage facility will be connected to the rest of the company’s compound via an elevated corridor that will pass over the brook that runs through the property. The warehouse will be used to store raw goods and finished products that are currently stored in trailers elsewhere on the property.
Finizio and other Wright Avenue residents feel the expansion will increase truck traffic on their residential street, as well as add more noise and fumes.
