Canandaigua man riding in damaged U-Haul truck arrested on drug charges

On Wednesday around 1:44 a.m. a 36-year-old Canandaigua man was arrested for possession after a traffic stop on McMahon Road.

Deputies say Michael Marinelli, 36, of Canandaigua was a passenger in a U-Haul truck that was stopped because debris were falling off of the vehicle and landing in the roadway.

The truck had significant damage to the roof that was caused by striking a bridge earlier int he week, according to the driver.



Marinelli was found to be in possession of heroin and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He was transported to the Ontario County Jail for pre-arraignment detention.

The charges will be answered in Victor Town Court at a later date.
