Part of State Route 5&20 in Waterloo was shut down on Saturday around 5 p.m. as crews dealt with downed wires, a snapped utility pole, and a vehicle, which was heavily damaged.
Reports from the scene indicate that a vehicle struck a utility pole, resulting in it being snapped – and wires coming down.
NYSEG reported at 6:24 p.m. that 15 homes were without power in the area where the accident is believed to have occurred.
Condition of the individuals involved was not confirmed by first responders. It’s unclear what led to the accident.
