A barn on Gibson Street in Canandaigua was a total loss after a major structure fire during the overnight hours.
The fire was first reported int he area of Wood and Gibson streets. While the barn was located in-between multiple homes — just a few blocks away from Sonnenberg Gardens — no homes were damaged.

Firefighters say the barn was far enough away from the homes that there wasn’t any major risk for damage to those niebhoring structures.
Neighbors reported hearing explosions in the fire, and first responders believe that was due to gas cans inside the structure.
The fire is now under investigation by officials in Ontario County.
Multiple departments were called to the scene.
