Union Springs was able to complete the sweep.

Paced by Eric Ryan’s four first-place finishes, the Wolves won 10 events, as the Union Springs boys track and field team beat Southern Cayuga 96-35, Moravia 115-8, Marathon 103-24 and Lansing 80-61 at Union Springs High School Wednesday.

Ryan took first in the 100m dash (11.85), the 200m dash (23.65) and the 400m dash (52.88). The senior teamed up with Chris Smith, Gavin Smithler and Flynn Anderson to win the 4×400 relay (3:51.91).

“I’ve had a couple others — not in those events — that won everything, but he’s very driven,” Wolves coach Mark Gaffney said of Ryan. “He sets goals and he’s been working hard for over a year to get there. It’s good to see his success because he’s doing the work to get there.”
