Linda Andrei has the most cash on hand among the five Democrats expected to take part in the June 26 primary in the race for the 23rd Congressional seat, according to the latest fundraising figures from the Federal Elections Commission.
Andrei, an Ithaca doctor, has $210,534 cash on hand after campaign- connected disbursements.
“We all know that the only poll that matters happens on Election Day,” Andrei, a retired cardiologist, said in a statement. “Still, this report shows that we will have the resources to organize and get my message out over the next two months and start the important work of turning this district around.”
Max Della Pia of Owego, Tioga County, has the second-most cash on hand among Democrats, with $76,473, closely followed by Tracy Mitrano of Milo, Yates County, with $70,363.
Much further behind in cash on hand are Ithaca’s Ian Golden with $23,233 and Eddie Sundquist of Jamestown, Chautauqua County, with $6,529.
Della Pia cited grassroots support in his fundraising numbers.
