Haunted Hotel in Naples

One of Ontario County’s premier visitor destinations is featured in The Haunted History Trail of New York State’s new 2018 tourism guide. The guide details haunted attractions across the state of New York, featuring over 80 individual attractions – from hotels to restaurants to a haunted asylum – and touches 33 counties within the state. It offers over 400 miles of ghostly adventures.

Located in the heart of downtown Naples, this historic Naples Hotel appeared on season 8 of the Syfy channel’s Ghost Hunters for the hotel’s many ghost sightings. With 32 rooms, including guest rooms, a restaurant and a basement bar, the Naples Hotel has location, history and lore for your paranormal weekend away.

“The Naples Hotel, built in 1895, boasts a diverse history, including its lure for those interested in the paranormal,” said Valerie Knoblauch, president and CEO of Finger Lakes Visitors Connection. “The Haunted History Trail allows more people to explore this distinctive piece of the area’s history.”

The 36-page Haunted History Trail guide details the stops along the trail, niche experiences at each place, and the types of tours and ghost hunts available to visitors year-round. The guide includes a map and index, outlining the geographic reach of the trail and providing specific contact information for each location.

“In our fifth year as a tourism trail, we are looking to provide the visitor with the information they need to book a tour or plan a full haunted vacation,” says Kelly Rapone, trail coordinator and tourism marketing director for the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce. “We took a new approach this year, diving deeper into the stories that surround these locations and really educating the visitor on everything there is to see and do along the Haunted History Trail of New York State.”
