On Sunday around 10:45 p.m. police arrested a Canandaigua man on assault, and open burning charges following an incident on Phoenix Street.

Klon J. Reese, 21, of Canandaigua was charged with second-degree assault, resisting arrest, open burning, disorderly conduct, and littering, according to police.

They report he was observed burning a small fire on a sidewalk on Phoenix Street; and was determined through investigation that clothing had been set on fire.

As result it was also determined that Reese started the fire.
