FLX FORECAST: Heavy rain on Monday; snow showers return on Tuesday

The rain will be steady at times throughout the afternoon, and eventually — parts of the Finger Lakes will see that dissipate to lighter snow showers as temperatures fall.

FLX Weather Meteorologist Drew Montreuil says that upwards of 1.5 inches of snow will be possible. Some locations could even see upwards of 2 inches when the rain finally stops.

Winds will be the second factor. Gusts could push into the 30-35 mph range during the afternoon. It’s not expected to have too many impacts, but a few power outages or downed limbs are possible.

Montreuil says that Tuesday will be a cold, raw day with widespread snow showers. Winds will gust to 35 mph, as well, and temperatures will struggle to break the upper-30s.

He says that change is coming, though. Check out his long-range forecast, which includes signs that spring is getting close to the Finger Lakes.
