A 32-year-old Marion man was arrested after threatening to shoot employees and customers at a Kwik Fill gas station in the Town of Ontario.
It happened on Tuesday at approximately 11:24 p.m. on Route 104 when a man asked the clerk to put $40 on a self-service gas pump โ along with three packs of Newport cigarettes.
The clerk asked for identification, to which the man yelled at the clerk to give him the cigarettes. In the process, the man, later identified as Bryan R. Lyle, 32, of Marion โ threatened to shoot the attendant.
He then walked out of the store, pumped $16 of gas into his car and dropped the nozzle on the ground.
Police say at that point he began yelling at customers โ and threatened to shoot one of them in the parking lot.
He was located by triangulating the pings from his cell phone, according to police.
Lyle was arraigned the next day after being released from the hospital. He was charged with third-degree robbery, driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and obstruction of governmental administration.
The charges will be answered at a later date. He was remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 secured bond.
