Clyde home heavily damaged by fire after overnight blaze

More than a half-dozen fire departments were called out to a structure fire on Welch Road in Clyde around 11 p.m. on Wednesday.

Firefighters in Clyde report that they were able to contain the flames to the upstairs portion of the home. However, that part of the structure suffered serious damage. They say the home is not a ‘total loss’ despite the heavy smoke and fire damage.

The call came in around 11 p.m. and when firefighters arrived — heavy flames were showing from the exterior of the structure.

The Red Cross was called to the scene, and is assisting the family.

The investigation into the fire remains active, according to first responders.
