Romulus man found hunched over steering wheel, charged with DWI

Deputies say a 48-year-old Romulus man was charged with driving while intoxicated after he was found inside his vehicle — slumped over the steering wheel.

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on April 8th at approximately 1:27 a.m. deputies arrested Erich J. Minges, 48, for driving while intoxicated. He was further charged with having a BAC above 0.08 percent.

Deputies say Minges was found hunched over, sleeping in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked in an Ovid business parking lot with the engine running.

He was released on traffic tickets and will answer the charges at a later date in Ovid Town Court.
