After most recent stabbing at Destiny, police and mall officials maintain mall is safe

It’s a place thousands of people go to every day to eat, shop and be entertained.

It’s not exactly the place one would think much crime happens.

But this past weekend’s stabbing at Destiny USA — the third stabbing in a month — is leaving some concerned about safety in a place that is designed for leisure.

“You don’t know who is coming toward you or behind you. Your purse is up here, it’s just scary,” said Sue LaBrake.

The most recent stabbing occurred on Saturday near the Villa clothing store. A 17-year-old victim was brought to the hospital in critical condition, but officials said Monday the victim is now stable and is expected to survive.
