On Wednesday, the Penn Yan Police Department was called to Silgan Plastics for a reported bomb threat.
The call came in around 1:30 p.m. and resulted in a heavy response to the facility. Officers checked the grounds with Ontario County and New York State Police K9 units assisting.
A thorough search of the building and grounds were conducted and no explosive devices were found.
Police say employees were allowed to return to the building without further incident.
The Yates County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene as well.
The person responsible for the threat, who has not been identified — will face felony charges, according to police.
