Firefighters say around 30 cats were found inside a burning home on Brace Road in Victor on Wednesday — as winds gust into the 50s and 60s.
It made fighting the fire difficult — as crews had to wait to break windows. Of the 30 cats found in the basement of the home — some were saved — but many died, according to those first responders on the scene.

They said when arriving on-scene tree limbs were falling all around the crews. It made fighting the fire, and contending with the circumstances that much more difficult.
The Humane Society was called to the scene, as well.
