A 41-year-old Penn Yan resident was arrested after having failed to register all of his personal details, as required under law for convicted sex offenders.
An investigation determined that Michael A. Schultz, 41, of Penn Yan determined that he used a social media account that was not registered. That investigation determined that there were multiple accounts that were unregistered.
He was charged with five counts of failure to register internet accounts by a sex offender on Monday. The charges are all felonies, according to police.
He was remanded to the Yates County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 secured bond.
