Police: Canandaigua man struck officer responding to incident

A 45-year-old Canandaigua man was arrested on Easter around 10:15 p.m. after striking a police officer.

Police say George Viliafane, 45, was charged with second-degree harassment after officers responded to 86 Adelaide Avenue to investigate an incident.



That’s when police say he struck an officer in the neck and chin area. While the officer was not injured — Viliafane was taken into custody without further incident.

He was issued an appearance ticket.
