With construction of the Equal Rights Cultural Heritage Center revving up in preparation of an October opening date, Auburn officials are busy putting together a plan for the management and operation of the $10 million building.
During the center’s first year, City Clerk Chuck Mason said the city has preliminarily budgeted $200,000 toward its operation, including staffing costs, supplies and utilities. City staff will be in charge of maintaining the interior and exterior of the building.
