The Penn Yan Police Department reports the arrest of a 27-year-old resident following a traffic stop on Monday around 4 p.m.
Police say Zeth R. Martz, 27, of Penn Yan was arrested after his vehicle was reported as being involved in a larceny. The larceny was of prescription narcotics, according to deputies, who notified the Penn Yan Police Department of the inbound vehicle.
Through police investigation and search of the vehicle officers located several prescription narcotics matching the description of those allegedly stolen, as well as a hypodermic needle.
Martz was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
He was remanded to the Yates County Jail after arraignment.
