Four projects in Ithaca are receiving a combined $1 million from the state for the rehabilitation of underutilized buildings on West State Street and West Green Street.
The fifth round of the Restore New York Communities Initiative is earmarked for properties on 121 W. State St., 123 W. State St., and Press Bay Court at 108-114 W. Green St.
The property at 121 W. State St. is the location of the former Rumble Seat Music and currently has The Watershed bar. Additions will include a 44-seat restaurant at the location, along with new outdoor seating and improvements to the public use of the alley adjacent to the State Theatre.
The property at 123 W. State St. has The Ithaca Journal among its tenants. Some of the changes will include improving access to the bottom level, and connecting State Street to Press Bay Alley with a pedestrian crossing.
A project also was proposed for Press Bay Court.
