Inspiration will never be far from Syracuse football quarterback Rex Culpepper as he begins his cancer fight.
He’ll have many allies in his corner: friends, family, teammates, coaches, countless others he never met but who have come to learn his story in the 72 hours since he announced his diagnosis Friday night on social media.
He will also have former Syracuse punter Rob Long, who was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer at the end of his senior season in 2010 and who last week celebrated an annual conquest, hitting the seven-year mark of being cancer-free.
