Around 4:45 p.m. on Friday the Trumansburg Fire Department and Ithaca Fire Department responded to the 1600 block of Route 96 for the report of a TCAT bus that was filling with smoke.
By the time firefighters arrived on scene, the bus was fully-engulfed. The fire was quickly brought under control by firefighters — but the bus was a total loss.
According to the Ithaca Voice it took crews about 30 minutes to fully-extinguish the fire.
Traffic was delayed in the area.
