Walworth woman arrested after hit and run in Lyons

Sheriff Barry Virts says deputies were called to State Route 31 in Lyons for a reported hit and run accident where a female driver left the scene on Thursday.

As result, deputies arrested Ashley E. Brown, 29, of Walworth. Upon investigation she was reported to have backed into a vehicle — fleeing the scene. She was located at Wayne Behavior Health and refused to cooperate with patrol.

She denied driving the vehicle, and after investigation it was determined that Brown was the operator of the vehicle.

Brown was charged with obstructing governmental administration, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, operating without an interlock device, operating without insurance, aggravated unloosened operation, and unsafe backing.

She was arraigned in Lyons Town Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 secured bond.

The charges will be answered in Lyons Town Court at a later date.
