On Monday at approximately 11:16 a.m. the Seneca Falls Police Department responded with other first responders to a crash on Trinity Lane.
Police say Michael R. Popp, 25, of Seneca Falls became distracted while driving when he left the roadway, colliding with the utility pole. Popp complained of abdominal pain, but refused to be transported to the hospital.
The pole sustained heavy damage, and was towed from the scene. NYSEG responded to the scene and replaced the utility pole without issue.
Popp was issued tickets for unsafe speed and unlawful possession of marijuana — after it was discovered that he possessed marijuana.
He was issued appearance tickets and will answer the charges at a later date.
The Seneca Falls Fire Department and North Seneca Ambulance assisted at the scene.
