American singer and pianist, Bruce Hornsby has won numerous Grammy and industry awards. Almost three decades after winning a Grammy for Best New Artist and launching one of contemporary music’s most diverse careers, Hornsby continues to draw from classical, jazz, bluegrass, folk, Motown, gospel, rock, blues, and jam band musical traditions. Known for his musical collaborations, Hornsby played with Grateful Dead and was an unofficial member of the band from September 1990 to March 1992, playing at over 100 shows during that time. Bruce Hornsby and his longtime band, the Noisemakers are recognized for their high degree of spontaneity and creativity during their live performances.
For more than forty years, The Temptations have prospered, propelling popular music with a series of smash hits, and sold-out performances throughout the world. The history of The Temptations is the history of contemporary American pop. An essential component of the original Motown machine, that amazing engine invented by Berry Gordy, The Temps began their musical life in Detroit in the early sixties. It wasn’t until 1964 however, that the Smokey Robinson written-and-produced “The Way You Do the things You Do” turned the guys into stars. An avalanche of hits followed, including “My Girl,” “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg,” “I Wish It Would Rain,” “Cloud Nine,” “Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)” and “Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone.” For always, the Temptations are sunshine on a cloudy day.
