Keuka Park man ticketed, Clifton Springs man sent to hopsital after Canandaigua crash

On Friday around 1:20 p.m. Canandaigua Fire and Ambulance crews responded to the intersection of State Route 364 and Lakeshore Drive located in the Town of Canandaigua for a two-car motor vehicle accident.

Investigation revealed that Philip Simmons, 30, of Keuka Park was operating his vehicle northbound on State Route 364 when he failed to stop for a red traffic signal. He then struck a vehicle being driven west on Lakeshore Drive, which was traveling through the intsersection.



This vehicle was being operated by Alvin Ryder Jr., 73, of Clifton Springs. The impact caused airbag deployment, and Ryder was subsequently transported to F.F. Thompson Hospital for treatment of rib and chest injuries.

Simmons was issued a traffic ticket for passing the red light.

Deputies say all occupants were wearing their seatbelts.
