Romulus driver leaves scene of accident, returns in new car before being charged with DWI

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Luce reports the arrest of a 63-year-old Romulus man for driving while intoxicated after a property damage accident at the intersection of State Route 96 and County Road 129.

Deputies say that on March 14th at approximately 7:22 p.m. Eugene A. Farney, 63, was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a BAC of 0.08 percent or more, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

While deputies were investigating the accident — they say Farney drove back to the scene. He was found to be in an intoxicated conditions, which resulted in the charges.

He was issued appearance tickets and will answer the charges in Ovid Town Court.
