Geneva man charged with contempt after texting ‘protected’ party

A Geneva man was arrested and committed to the Ontario County Jail after violating a stay away order of protection, according to deputies.

Andrew J. Barnhill, 48, of Geneva was charged with first-degree contempt after sending several text messages to a protected party in violation of an order of protection.



He was arraigned in Geneva Town court and committed to the Ontario County Jail.

He will answer the charges at a later date.
