Former Tyrone highway official ordered to plea down to disorderly conduct from felony charge

The 68-year-old old former Tyrone Town Highway Superintendent who was charged with official misconduct and offering a false instrument for filing has pleaded guilty.

Paul Ernhout, 68, pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct, according to FLDN. He faced a felony charge and was accused of submitting altered highway car invoices for work done on his personal vehicle.

He was ordered to pay a little more than $300 in restitution, and will not be allowed to run for political office for one year.
