A 27-year-old Utica man faces multiple charges, including felony first-degree rape after an incident, which unfolded on Sunday.
Police say Joseph McGrew Jr., 27, of Utica provided alcohol to a 20-year-old female in Auburn. The victim says that while she was asleep McGrew Jr. had sexual intercourse with her, and was unable to give consent due to her condition.
The assault allegedly took place at the Holiday Inn on North Street.
Police report that the victim was treated at Auburn Community Hospital.
McGrew has been charged with first-degree rape, and first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child. He was arraigned and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail without bail.
