Hobart lacrosse falls to undefeated Hoyas in DC

Hobart gave the undefeated Georgetown Hoyas lacrosse team a run for the money on Saturday afternoon in Washington DC, but ultimately fell short, losing 12-9 on Cooper Field.

Hobart College junior Chris Aslanian scored twice and set up three other goals. Among Division I Statesmen, he moved up to eighth in career assists (47), moved into a tie for 14th in career goals, and is one point out of 11th with 109. First-year Ryan Archer contributed four points on two goals and two assists while sophomore Eric Holden scored twice and notched an assist. Junior Matthew Pedicine won 15-of-23 faceoffs and collected a game-high eight ground balls. In goal, sophomore Sam Lucchesi made nine saves.

Georgetown’s Daniel Bucaro and Jake Carraway combined for 13 points. Bucaro had five goals and two assists while Carraway logged three goals and three assists. Goalie Nick Marrocco earned the win with 12 saves.

The Hobart College lacrosse team is headed to Washington, D.C., to take on No. 18 Georgetown University at Cooper Field. The Statesmen and Hoyas will face off at noon on Saturday.
