Syracuse has nothing left to do but wait: ‘Our fate is in their hands’

The Syracuse Orange had one last chance to impress the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee.

One more opportunity to bolster its resume with the type of victory that grabs the attention of everyone in the country, including and especially those committee members who determine the at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament.

But Syracuse didn’t have nearly enough firepower to compete with North Carolina as the Tar Heels handily defeated the Orange 78-59 in the second round of the ACC Tournament on Wednesday night.

So now the SU players and coaches face four agonizing days of waiting until the NCAA field is revealed on Sunday night.
