A Sodus man is headed to prison for killing his ex-girlfriend after emotional testimony at his sentencing Friday.
Twenty-year-old David Knight-Hollis pleaded guilty to second-degree murder charges for the death of 17-year-old Alyssa Taft. will serve 20 years to life behind bars after he killed Alyssa Taft at a home on Boyd Road in Sodus back in November.
Last November, prosecutors say Knight-Hollis lured Taft to his home on Boyd Road in Sodus on the pretext of returning money he owed her, then tried to convince her to resume their relationship which ended in the summer. When she tried to leave, investigators say he stabbed her in the ribs and slit her throat to stop her from screaming.
Taft’s mother Sarah gave passionate testimony in court Friday, excoriating her daughter's confessed killer and sharing her pain about the loss of her child.
