Skaneateles grad lands new job in Trump administration after resigning drug post

A 2012 graduate of Skaneateles High School has landed a new job in President Donald Trump's administration, only weeks after he resigned under pressure from a White House office overseeing the federal response to the opioid crisis.

Taylor Weyeneth, 24, has started a new job at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, where he will focus on opioid policy as a mid-level official at the agency, Politico reported.

Weyeneth left a high-level post at the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy in late January amid criticism about his lack of experience and questions about his resume raised by a series of reports by The Washington Post.

Weyeneth, a 2016 graduate of St. John's University, rose from a volunteer for the Trump presidential campaign to a political appointee at the White House drug policy office.
