State police charge Port Byron student for making threat

State Police arrested a 13-year-old Port Byron student for making a claim to harm other students at the school.

Troopers say at no time did investigators believe his threats would be carried put and at no time were any students or faculty in any danger.

The student was charged with making a terroristic threat, a Class D felony.

The student was processed on the charge and released to the custody of a legal guardian.

A family court appearance ticket was issued.

The charges will be answered in Cayuga County Family Court at a later date.
