Deputies: Farmington crash leads to charges for Clifton Springs man, two sent to Strong Hospital

Deputies provided an update on a two-car accident, which resulted in multiple agencies responding to a busy intersection in Farmington.

On Tuesday at about 12:55 p.m. deputies, along with the Farmington Fire Department and Victor-Farmington Ambulance responded to the intersection of State Route 332 and County Road 41 for the reported crash.

Upon investigation, deputies say that Jason VanDuyne, 46, of Clifton Springs was traveling north on State Route 332 when he failed to stop for a red light.

Robert Bowe, 84, of Farmington was traveling east on County Road 41 through the intersection when the two cars collided.

Deputies say that VanDuyne and his passenger complained of abdominal pain following the accident, and were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.

No one inside the Bowe vehicle was injured during the accident.

VanDuyne was charged after a complete investigation into the crash. He was found to have been operating his vehicle while under the influence of drugs, and was driving on a suspended license.

He was issued citations to appear in Farmington Town Court at a later date.
